Tilley Soaps was established in 1865 by Arthur Tilley as a soap & perfumery works. It is now proudly the oldest 100% Australian owned soap manufacturer, celebrating its 159-year anniversary in 2024.

Founded by Aurthur, the Tilley brand has overseen two world wars, a great depression, GFC and many more challenges, yet still managed to make beautifully fragranced products that continue to entice its loyal fan base.

Following success in its hometown, Tilley ventured further afield, exhibiting at the World Trade Fairs in London, Paris, New York and Philadelphia in the 1890s. During exhibitions, Tilley won numerous awards and even Royal Treaties by appointment to the Queen.

“A soap maker is never done learning the art of making soap” Arthur was often quoted. 

This phrase still plays a big part of the brand’s success and one of the reasons Tilley continues to deliver premium products for the home and body.
